I am a literary scholar with a special interest in nineteenth and twentieth-century novel and its social and intellectual contexts. I was educated at the University of Belgrade (BA & MA in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory) and Yale University (MA, MPhil & PhD in Comparative Literature). I am also an alumnus of The School of Criticism and Theory at Cornell and have served as a Junior Research Fellow in Literary Studies at King’s College, Cambridge. I have taught at institutions in the US, Europe, and Asia, and I currently teach in the English Department at Lingnan University in Hong Kong. I am the author of a book on the history of the Bildungsroman (Virginia, 2020) and the editor and translator of several further volumes. My essays have appeared or are forthcoming in a range of journals, including New Literary History, Comparative Literature Studies, Victorian Literature and Culture, Journal of Modern Literature and ELH. I am also the editor of the forthcoming issue of Genre on Aestheticism Now.
